Roman Reigns’ current and updated theme song is called ‘I am Greatness’, debuting it after his grand return at SummerSlam 2024 this year. After making his first appearance following WrestleMania 40, he returned with the OTC gimmick, meaning the Original Tribal Chief.
In the main event of the SummerSlam 2024, he attacked his former enforcer and the self-proclaimed new Tribal Chief of the new Bloodline, Solo Sikoa. His return and ambush to Sikoa helped Cody Rhodes retain the WWE Championship, even though he was the one who stopped Roman’s record-long 1316 days of title reign at the Grandest Stage of Them All in April 2024.
Roman Reigns’ current theme song ‘I am Greatness’ originates from his WrestleMania 40 entrance on day two. Philadelphia District All-City Orchestra performed a drum-centric version of his previous theme song, ‘ Head of the Table.’ While the talented Philadelphia-based orchestra’s performance caught the attention of wrestling fans, it officially became Roman’s entrance music after four months.
His previous ‘Head of the Table’ song was introduced when he turned heel, embarking on the historical title reign in WWE. Once he came back at SummerSlam 24, he was a babyface, attacking Solo Sikoa and announcing his feud against his former enforcer, which culminated in a War Games match between OG and the new Bloodline.
After turning a babyface recently, using the old theme song as a bad guy didn’t sit well. Hence, introducing the new ‘I Am Greatness’, a drum rendition of the previous song, matches his new persona.
Who Made Roman Reigns Current And Previous Theme Songs?
Following the CFO’s disagreement and departure from WWE, the current theme songs of Superstars are mostly produced by Def Rebel, which is a New York-based music production company, also known as DJDPT. Both Roman Reigns’ entrance songs, ‘I am Greatness’ and Head Of The Table’ are created by Def Rebel.

Jim Johnston used to be the composer behind many iconic entrance songs in WWE. The entrances of The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Randy Orton, The Rock, etc were his creations. Roman Reigns’ song, however, isn’t the work of the legendary Jim Johnston.
In January 2021, months before the debut of his previous theme song ‘Head of the Table’, Roman Reigns talked to BR Wrestling, saying he would be debuting the theme song, changing the old Shield-inspired song. The Tribal Chief was working on that song. It needed the perfect vibe to fit in the heel character of the Head of the Table. He added that the entrance couldn’t be rap, as it wouldn’t go well with the gimmick.
Reigns is likely to remain a babyface for a while. Whenever he turns a bad guy, he might consider bringing back the iconic old entrance music, ditching the currently used ‘I Am Greatness’ song as a good guy.
Paul Heyman’s Opinion About Roman Reigns Old Theme Song
Paul Heyman is currently not actively managing Roman Reigns, and his recent run as The OTG has been predominantly on his own.
Roman Reigns’ Wiseman, played a big contribution in his transformation from the underappreciated babyface to the charismatic bad guy gimmick in 2020. A couple of weeks after introducing the previous theme song to the WWE Universe, the veteran manager spoke to Complex about creating the theme song and the importance of it in Roman’s career.
Paul said that following the introduction of the Head of the Table song was the final nail in the coffin he carried from his Shield days. Apart from being a special counsel on WWE programming, he diligently played the same part behind the screen, giving him useful suggestions. The presentation, mannerisms, and look changed with this new bad guy persona.
Heyman added that Reigns stopped wearing the vest, while changing the theme song was equally essential to drift away from the Shield days, considering the group doesn’t exist anymore. The song authentically represents only Roman Reigns himself, and it has become a fan favorite in the past three years.
