Stone Cold Steve Austin is called the ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ of WWE for being originally from the Southern State. Even though he is originally from Texas, Stone Cold Steve Austin presently lives in Gardnerville, which is in Douglas County in the state of Nevada.
The former WWE Champion resides with his family on a ranch in Nevada. The land area of his ranch is approximately 40 acres, calling it, ‘Broken Skull Ranch 2.0’, named after the popular beer brand the Toughest SOB of WWE often promotes on his social media platforms.
The now-Nevada resident shares the ranch with his current wife, Kristin, and two cats called Macho and Pancho.
Stone Cold Steve Austin Spent His Childhood And Majority Of Adulthood In Texas
As discussed before, Steve Austin revived his popular wrestling nickname ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ due to his roots in Texas. He was born in Austin, which he incorporated into his ring name after he arrived in WWE.
Although Stone Cold was born in Austin, Texas, he didn’t grow up there. Due to his parents’ divorce when he was barely a year old, he and his mother moved to Edna, Texas. His mother found a new partner, and he eventually embraced his stepfather’s legal name, turning away from his birth father’s identity.
Growing up with four siblings in Edna, Texas, the six-time WWE Champion attended Edna High School, excelling as a football player due to his athleticism from childhood. Playing as a linebacker and defensive end, he received a college scholarship in football. Studying at the University of North Texas, Stone Cold continued residing in the Southern state throughout his college days.
While the WWE Hall of Famer was an avid wrestling fan from an early age, he later yearned to be a professional wrestler despite his success as a football player. Without a doubt, he built the cornerstone of his athletic credibility through football, and it helped him in the ring once he decided to become a professional wrestler.
WrestleMania 41 Will Be Held In Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Current State Nevada
Even though Stone Cold Steve Austin officially retired in 2003, he never detached himself from the business. One way or another, he played different roles in WWE throughout the years. From appearing as a guest referee hosting big PLEs to becoming the host of one of WWE’s one of the biggest talk shows, the Texas Rattlesnake morphed into different roles when required.
However, in 2022, he made an unthinkable decision. Breaking his first retirement, he stepped into the squared circle at WrestleMania 38, facing Kevin Owens in the main event of night 1. As the show was held in Texas, fans rightly predicted Austin’s return to the ring.
The WWE legend revealed in an interview with Adrian Radio93 in August,
“It’ll (WrestleMania 41)be in Vegas, so I hope to be there. If he (Cody Rhodes) needs another hand, I’ll be there.”
With WrestleMania 41 set to be held in Stone Cold’s current state of residence, Nevada, it’s plausible to see him in the WWE ring once again; at least, that’s what most fans are hoping.
Back in August 2024, in another interview with The Athletic, Stone Cold hinted at a possible plan for the Grandest Stage of Them All next year, saying it wouldn’t be easy to take him out of Nevada, and the state will be hosting WrestleMania 41.
He could potentially wrestle in a brilliant match against a youngster, given how good Triple H had been booking the rookie talents in WWE. He helped scale Kevin Owens’s status in WWE at WrestleMania 38, and he would potentially do it in Las Vegas, Nevada, next year.
Knowing his fitness standard at the moment and his performance in 2022, he could still deliver a classic encounter against someone like Gunther, Bron Breakker, or even LA Knight, who often draws comparisons with the legendary Superstar.
