Roman Reigns featured in the debut episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix on January 6, 2025. As always, his sneaker game was strong during the match, as he wore Kobe 9 Elite shoes from Nike dedicated in honor of the NBA legend, Kobe Bryant.

In the press conference following RAW, the former WWE Champion was asked about wearing Kobe 9 Elite shoes and how he felt wearing them, especially during the show in Los Angeles, which is the home to the Los Angeles Lakers.

” It’s no secret that I am a Jordan fan, a Nike fan, and being here in L.A. I know we are not in Laker country right now, but I think, especially after everything and what’s brought to the game, everyone got such deep respect for Kobe and what he brought to the game. Even more so, not just the game, the mentality, that Mamba mentality”.

The OTC is a staunch supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers, and he is a big admirer of the late Kobe. Seeing his words during the press conference, it is evident that he paid homage to the basketball superstar by wearing Kobe 9 Elites. He wore beautiful red and white sneakers on RAW’s Netflix episode, combined with his normal black ring gear.

Roman Reigns was victorious in Tribal Combat Match

Roman Reigns, the original Tribal Chief, probably culminated in his long-standing feud with Solo Sikoa and New Bloodline on RAW’s Netflix Debut episode. With one victory each in their previous encounters leading new and OG Bloodlines at Crown Jewel 2024 and Survivor Series 2024, this match was their tie-breaker.

As anticipated, the main event match between Roman and Solo lived up to the hype, delivering various close moments. Bloodline members from both sides interfered with the match, but Cody Rhodes and Kevin Nash were unexpected intruders. Owens attacked Roman, posing a threat to him, but Cody Rhodes saved his former rival in the match by attacking his current nemesis, Owens.

In the end, Roman Reigns won the match by pinfall, getting hands on his Ula Fala, cementing his legacy as the only Tribal Chief of Bloodline and WWE. The Rock gave him the Ula Fala and shook his hand out of respect. With WrestleMania around the corner, it will be interesting to see if The Rock becomes the next rival of Roman Reigns. The match between the family members could break all box office records.
