Before WWE started calling female wrestlers ‘women’, they were referred to as ‘divas’ for a lengthy period, highlighting their good looks with the term. In mid-2008, the acclaimed Women’s Championship was retired, which remained on the roster for years. The company introduced a new title called ‘Divas Championship’.
With a pink butterfly design in the middle, the Divas belt represented the women’s division for eight years, from 2008 to 2016. It was a significant time for the female talents with trials and triumphs. Due to the arrival of the PG Era, the divas didn’t need to be involved in risque segments like in the Attitude or Ruthless Aggression Era. However, women’s matches were still not treated as seriously as men’s, with a majority of them ending in a few minutes.
In the Divas Era, there were seventeen separate champions, each with a unique look. Similar to the previous eras, the roster consisted of several women blonde WWE wrestlers who became champions. Have a look at the best blonde talents to capture the prestigious belt.
5) Kelly Kelly
Starting her WWE career at the age of 19, Kelly Kelly was the youngest female star on the roster in 2006. However, the former model was hired for her good looks, initially performing striptease and managing wrestlers. Although she didn’t wrestle earlier, by the time the Divas Era emerged, she became an active wrestler on the roster.
Kelly Kelly was not a great wrestler, but she was still among the popular female stars on the roster. Her peak year as a wrestler was 2011 when she moved to RAW, winning the Divas Championship from Brie Bella, making it her only women’s honor in WWE.
Given she enjoyed a run of 104 days, Kelly Kelly would go down in history as one of the greatest blonde WWE Divas Champions. Although fans anticipated she had many years left in the squared circle, she left the business in 2012, aged 25.
4) Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair is regarded as the greatest female champion of all time by many of her peers. The Queen’s records and accomplishments speak volumes. She is a fourteen-time Women’s Champion, and no female star comes close and can rival her record. The closest names to her number are Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch, each of whom has seven title reigns.
Out of Charlotte’s fourteen reigns, she has one Divas Championship tenure, lasting from 2015 to 2016 until discontinuation of the belt. Hence, The Queen was the last Divas Champion in WWE history.

Winning the butterfly-designed belt was her maiden main roster honor. She had an impressive run of 196 days. When the title was abandoned and the Women’s Title was introduced at WrestleMania 32, Charlotte still walked out with a victory after beating Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks.
3) Beth Phoenix
Beth Phoenix’s sheer strength, physical toughness, and charisma made her one of the biggest female stars of the 2000s. Known as The Glamazon, she became a dominant Women’s Champion, capturing the belt three times in her career.
However, once the Women’s belt was retired and the Divas Championship was launched, she remained in the title picture, going toe-to-toe, with other talents. Defeating Kelly Kelly, Phoenix captured her only Divas Championship at Hell In a Cell 2011, and the remarkable title reign lasted a record 204 days, making her one of the longest-reigning Divas Champions in history.
2) Michelle McCool
Michelle McCool was a pioneer in the rise of the Divas Era. She emerged to the WWE through Divas Search, so it made sense she became one of the decorated stars of the division in the era with the same name. In her heyday, a young McCool was blonde and attractive, but she did not lack talent.
With the All-American Diva gimmick, she made a lasting influence on the main roster, first winning the Women’s Championship and then capturing the Divas Championship twice. She ranks among one of the most successful blonde WWE female wrestlers in the Divas Era with a combined title reign of 218 days.
She seemingly had more years left in the squared circle abruptly parted away from the Stamford-based promotion in 2011 after marrying The Undertaker.
1) Maryse
AJ Lee and Nikki Bella enjoyed the most prosperous tenures with the Divas Title. AJ had the most combined days as the champion, which counted to 406 days across three different runs. On the other hand, Nikki Bella held the pink belt for the most number of days in a single run, as her second title tenure lasted 301 days. However, both AJ and Nikki were brunette champions.
With a total days of 265 days in two reigns, Maryse was the most accomplished blonde WWE Divas Champion in history, sitting at the third spot behind AJ Lee and Nikki Bella.
Maryse was truly the definition of a diva, thanks to her striking appearance and brilliant heel work. From 2008 to 2011, she not only wore the title twice but also regularly defended it against leading challengers of the division.
