Yes, the former NXT Champion Bo Dallas is the man playing the enigmatic character of Uncle Howdy. The real identity was first revealed when WWE hyped up the anticipated debut of the mysterious group, The Wyatt Sicks. Uncle Howdy, the group leader, sat down for an interview with Bo Dallas, revealing some obscure details about him, and mourned due to his brother’s death.

Seeing the sit-down interview, it was clear to WWE Universe that Howdy had a face-to-face interview with his Bo Dallas. Meanwhile, it was also Bo’s first major WWE appearance in years. In the following months, WWE molded his persona through sinister stories and spooky vignettes, featuring both Uncle Howdy and Bo Dallas to confirm they were indeed the same person, and the latter was The Wyatt Sicks leader’s alter ego. 

After heightening the expectations of the fans, Uncle Howdy debuted as an in-ring talent on the episode of Monday Night RAW on August 26, 2024, against Chad Gable, making it the official in-ring return of Bo Dallas under a new gimmick. As presumed, he dominated the encounter, outplayed Gable, and won the encounter, securing his first RAW win. 

Uncle Howdy aka Bo Dallas Is The Real-Life Brother Of Bray Wyatt And Part Of the Rotunda Family 

While it is evident who Uncle Howdy is in WWE, we can now delve into the character’s backstory. The intriguing masked man first appeared on the TV screen in 2022, nagging and pursuing the attention of Bray Wyatt. The motive behind his attempt to draw Bray’s attention was their real-life relationship.

Bo Dallas is the actual sibling of the late Bray Wyatt. The duo comes from one of the most distinguished families in professional wrestling, the Rotunda family. Their grandfather, Blackjack Mulligan, was an established name of the business in the 1970s, while their father, Mike Rotunda, was an accomplished wrestler, working for WWE and WCW in the 1980s and 90s. 

Apart from their father and grandfather, his uncles were seasoned wrestlers, working for various companies. The Rotunda brothers’ uncle, Kendall Windham, had a notable stint in WCW in the late 1980s, while the other uncle, Barry Windham, built an impressive resume in the squared circle. 

Barry Windham established his legacy in NWA for his incredible stint in the 1980s. He was associated with the promotion’s most famous stable, The Four Horsewoman. In addition, he was NWA’s former World Heavyweight Champion, United States Champion, and the Tag Team Champion, building a Hall of Fame-worthy career. 

Carrying the Rotunda legacy, Bray Wyatt’s birth name was Windham Rotunda, while his brother Bo Dallas or Uncle Howdy’s real name is Taylor Rotunda. Despite being real brothers, they missed the opportunity to wrestle together as a tag team due to the unexpected demise of Bray Wyatt on August 23, 2023. 

Uncle Howdy was initially introduced alongside Bray Wyatt, who was transforming into a new gimmick after being brought back to WWE. Even though Uncle Howdy ambushed his real brother at the beginning, they joined forces together near the end of Bray’s WWE career.

Uncle Howdy And The Fiend Could Have Been Modern Day Brothers Of Destruction 

The Brothers of Destruction, composed of Kane and The Undertaker, was one of the leading tag teams in WWE history, particularly in the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras. They were deemed as brothers, although it was only kayfabe. 

Drawing inspiration from the two darkest gimmicks in professional wrestling and one of the destructive tag teams, the tag team of Uncle Howdy and The Fiend, depicted by Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt would have been unstoppable forces today with their dark personas and captivating storytelling flair. As real brothers, their chemistry would have been amazing, which was demonstrated during their brief run together. 

Paying homage to his late brother, Uncle Howdy, aka Bo Dallas, has built his force, bringing life to Firefly Fun House characters that were first introduced by Bray Wyatt. The stable ‘The Wyatt Sicks’ is named in honor of the Eater of the World. Today, in each Bo Dallas’ promo, his demeanor, style, and even tone mirror with his late brother. 

While The Wyatt Sicks leader continues cherishing Bray’s legacy, appearing on the ‘Headlock’ podcast in October 2024, he talked about his plan to team up with the former WWE Champion. 

As per Bo, he and his late older sibling had different plans altogether, as their goal of finally working together was becoming a reality. The duo were coming up with fresh ideas for different story arcs that could have been incorporated. 

He further added that the formation of Wyatt Sicks was Bray Wyatt’s brainchild. Now, he feels thankful for upholding the Eater of World’s vision and legacy by leading the group to new limits. 

Bo Dallas’ First WWE Run  

Bo Dallas was let go of WWE in April 2021, following a lengthy thirteen-year run as a Superstar. His first WWE run was ordinary with ups and downs. He attained the most success in the developmental brand NXT, where he honed his skills and eventually popularized his catchphrase ‘Believe.’ While he won the NXT Championship, his career took a downturn upon the main roster debut. 

Despite an impressive RAW debut and an initial undefeated run, he slipped under the radar, struggling in the mid-card and teaming up with. Different tag team partners. He worked with groups like The B-Team, The Social Outcast, and The Miztourage. He was primarily a sidekick in these teams, contrasting his current role as the visionary leader of The Wyatt Sicks. Throughout his first main roster journey, his only major accomplishment was capturing the RAW Tag Team Championship with Curtis Axel.
