Roman Reigns gave a call to the Wiseman Paul Heyman last week, needing help to recruit the fifth member of OG Bloodline amid Survivor Series War Games 2024. However, the legendary manager responded to the Original Tribal Chief this week on SmackDown (November 22, 2024) by making an unforeseen appearance, and he didn’t show up alone.

The Wiseman brought his former client and good friend, CM Punk, asking him to help Roman Reigns ahead of Survivor Series, set to take place in Vancouver, Canada next week. Now,  the OG and new Bloodline consist of even five members each, making it a much anticipated civil war of Bloodline.

With OG Bloodline members and the addition of the four-time WWE Champion, Roman’s team appears to have more edge than Solo Sikoa’s on paper. The question remains if the team would be able to deliver, knowing how it is an unfamiliar team-up between these two men.

Another question arises as to whether WWE is slowly planting the seeds of CM Punk Vs Roman Reigns rivalry in the future, which could turn out to be a blockbuster feud between the two current biggest stars of the company.

The only time these two behemoths crossed paths in the ring was more than a decade ago during the Best In The World’s initial WWE run. Punk faced all The Shield members in singles matches, including Roman Reigns. Facing each other on an episode of RAW on January 6, 2014, Reigns came out on top, meaning he held the advantage in their one-on-one bout.

CM Punk has no relation or ties with the Bloodline, and he is probably aligning with Reigns’ team to favor Paul Heyman. Although part of the same team, betrayal is an old-age story in professional wrestling, and the Chicago native turning on Roman and his Bloodline is plausible. This is how the mega rivalry should be booked if both CM Punk and Paul Heyman team up fall out, and the Best In the World simply chooses to double-cross the Head of the Table of WWE.

CM Punk Attacks Roman Reigns During Wargames Match

Punk had a surprising return last year at Survivor Series after almost a decade. This year, the former WWE Champion is set to step foot in a War Games match for the first time in his lengthy career. In War Games, two big cages will be present in the middle, with the last surviving man picking up the win for his team.

Taking into account that he has no connection with either Reigns or Bloodline, his heel turn could be a big surprise. Moreover, in the past, they didn’t see eye-to-eye.

During Punk’s AEW tenure, he badmouthed part-time top WWE stars, including Roman Reigns, and the latter also retaliated to his comments. Hence, they have had real-life heat that could convert into an in-ring feud if the Second City Reign deceives his team at Survivor Series 2024, laying an attack on Roman Reigns.

The Sneak Attack Angers Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has a history of getting backstabbed by his alliances. First, he was betrayed by his former Shield brother, Seth Rollins, in 2014, which is why The Shield was disbanded. Even after leading the stable Bloodline during his championship tenure, he was stabbed in the back once again by his enforcer and The Usos’ other siblings, Solo Sikoa, who formed his own Bloodline and led it to the upcoming PLE.

If CM Punk repeats the same thing and turns heel, it would infuriate the Original Tribal Chief, possibly starting a new feud between the heel Punk and face Reigns.

The Bloodline Saga Continues With CM Punk Joining Solo Sikoa

As opposed to the babyface CM Punk, which he has been portraying since returning to WWE, his bad guy version is more entertaining. During the Best In the World’s 434-day WWE Championship reign, he was a heel, and he played the role to perfection.

Punk, following the War Games match, continues his association with Solo Sikoa and the new Bloodline, officially establishing him as a heel. The dispute between Roman’s stable and Solo’s stable continues moving to 2025, with Reigns focusing on Punk as a singles feud.

CM Punk Vs Roman Reigns Happens At Royal Rumble 2025 With Paul Heyman’s Service On The Line

Paul Heyman is the middleman between the two former WWE Champions at present. He was once the manager of the Best In the World, notably amid his historic WWE Champion reign. He plotted strategic moves, helping Punk overcome his biggest challenges, including using The Shield to his advantage. Hence, CM Punk and Paul Heyman have long-standing bonds.

On the other hand, The Wiseman had a similar impact on Roman Reigns’ career, as they teamed up once he turned heel. Under Heyman’s influence, Reigns reached the god level, attaining the feat of long-reigning world champion in the modern era.

Knowing the astute Paul Heyman’s worth, both Roman and Punk would want him as their manager. It’s similar to how Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns collided at Crown Jewel 2021 with Heyman’s service on the line. A likely scenario might unfold in their rivalry.

In a non-title feud, CM Punk Vs Roman Reigns, one of the most anticipated rivalries of the modern era, happens at Royal Rumble 2025. The winner will be eligible to receive Paul Heyman’s service in the future, making him The Wiseman’s client.
