Stephanie McMahon goes by the name of Billion Dollar Princess of WWE, becoming an integral part of the wrestling fraternity after debuting in 1999. Being Vince McMahon’s daughter, she received a strong-on-screen character with corporate power. She seldom wrestled, especially in the Attitude Era when she was still in her 20s.

With a domineering persona of a heel, she used her corporate power. She turned the lives of babyfaces into nightmares by putting them through insurmountable hurdles, creating heat from the WWE Universe. After spending over two decades in WWE playing different on-screen roles, she parted from the company once Vince McMahon departed.

While the former Women’s Champion had an intriguing on-screen persona, behind the scenes, a young Stephanie was embroiled in various rumors and reports in the initial phase of her career before the internet boom.

5) Stephanie McMahon Reportedly Came Up With John Cena’s Rapper Persona In 2003

John Cena came to the main roster after a two-year training in OVW, making the famous debut against a veteran Kurt Angle with ruthless aggression. He was no different from other rookies at that time because his gimmick wasn’t distinctive enough to stand out from the rest.

His career was saved by Stephanie McMahon during a European tour in 2003 when Cena was on the verge of being fired. Traveling in a tour bus, Steph saw Cena participating in a freestyle rap battle with fellow wrestlers Rey Mysterio and Rikishi. After noticing his talent, she pitched the rapper Gimmick’s idea to Vince McMahon, which was approved.

Once Cena debuted the Doctor of Thuganomics character, it was an instant hit, connecting with the audience for the catchy lines due to his excellent freestyle rapping prowess. The Leader of Cenation credited Stephanie McMahon for saving his WWE career by coming up with such a career-changing idea.

WWE has had many outlandish storylines over the years, especially during the peak years of risque plots and characters in the Attitude Era. Having full creative control, Vince McMahon booked wrestlers in several wild angles that would not fly today.

Once Vince McMahon envisioned an eccentric story idea featuring him and his daughter. In the recently released docuseries of Vince McMahon, he made a jaw-dropping revelation. The storyline idea was Stephanie McMahon getting pregnant, and Vince would have been the child’s father, making him both father and grandfather.

As per Vince McMahon,

One of my storyline ideas was that Stephanie gets pregnant. I think….I was the one who impregnated her. My character

Thinking it was a bit too much, the Billion Dollar Princess straightway declined the storyline idea.

3) A Young Stephanie McMahon Shared A Great Bond With Andre The Giant

Stephanie McMahon has wrestling royalty because both her father and grandfather were wrestling promoters. While growing up in the 1980s, WWE was in a booming period under Vince McMahon’s guidance. Hence, she witnessed many old-school wrestling legends from a proximity.

Andre the Giant, WWE’s one of biggest attractions and prominent names in the 1980s, shared a close-knit relationship with the McMahon family, including a toddler and teenage Stephanie.

In an interview with D Magazine back in 2022, Stephanie McMahon talked about her tight bond with Andre The Giant and how he was her childhood best friend. According to her,

I knew my friend, and I didn’t like how people treated him differently just because of his size

She further mentioned the importance of the his stature in WWE. His match with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 3 helped the company scale on a large scale. A child, Stephanie, was present there, and it was her favorite moment from Andre’s career.

2) Triple H Left Chyna To Date Stephanie McMahon

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon began their romantic relationship on-screen in 1999, officially embarking on the McMahon-Hemsley Era. In no time, the on-screen relationship blossomed into a genuine romance, though it came with a price.

Hunter was reportedly in a real relationship with Chyna at that time, starting the connection in 1996. They worked together as part of DX in WWE. However, she accused Triple H of cheating once his relationship flourished on and off the screen with Steph.

1) Stephanie McMahon And Randy Savage Were Reportedly In A Relationship

The world of professional wrestling, including WWE, is regularly buzzing with rumors. One rumor that startled every wrestling fan was Stephanie dating the former WWE Champion and Golden Era legend Randy Savage.

The rumor remains unverified, but there are believable reasons behind it. Despite bad blood with Vince McMahon, many wrestlers eventually returned to WWE, but it didn’t apply to Macho Man once he left the company in 1994.

Moreover, Savage didn’t get an induction into the Hall of Fame until four years after his death, possibly due to his deteriorating relationship with the former WWE Chairman, probably after discovering his relationship with his daughter.
